Our guides are entrusted with the key responsibility of making the extensive collections of the museums accessible, meaningful and inspiring to all who visit and ensuring a fun, educational and memorable experience. This experience of learning, cultivating a love for one’s own motherland and disseminating information to our valued guests is highly enriching and rewarding.

Founder and Curator Victor Hugo Gomes will train volunteers for the Guided Tour Programs, designed to serve the needs and interests of our diverse visitors, from school children to adults. Volunteers for this important position undergo extensive, rigorous training to achieve the highest standards of presentation.
No prior Art History background or work experience is required to volunteer. However, those wishing to volunteer should be comfortable withstanding and walking for long periods and with communicating to people.
Application Process
Interested applicants must attend at least one guided tour before applying.
- All accepted volunteers are required to attend a 1-week training course concentrating on the history, culture and purpose of the Museum’s collections, as well as on presentation skills and research techniques.
- During this course, you will be presented with a script that you must memorize in English or Hindi/Konkani.
- Volunteers will then shadow senior guides on their tours and learn how to present information and interact with our varied guests. You will also be required to make copious notes about each object in the Museum to better understand its history and heritage.
- The final test will be taking Victor on tour. If you can engage and impress him, you’ve definitely made a mark!
Time commitment: 10 guided tours per week.
Minimum requirements:
Must attend one guided tour of the Museums.
Language proficiency in English, Hindi OR Konkani.
